Cost

How much does it cost to move a shed?

Most ordinary shed moves land between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars. A small on-property shift is the low end. A wide building hauled across the state, with a permit and a difficult yard, is the high end. Shed Movers publishes a planning range from the floor size and the miles. We do not quote the haul, and we do not take payment for it.

A 10×12 moved under 25 miles on a public road sits in a band of $550–$1,100. Across its own yard, $350–$800. The same building going 25 to 100 miles is $750–$1,800, 100 to 300 miles is $1,200–$3,200, and over 300 miles is $2,200–$6,500. Use the calculator for a different size. Then send the request if you want one hauler to price the real job.

What the range leaves out

  • The exact route inside a mile band. City streets and an open highway of the same length are not the same day.
  • Permits and pilot cars once the load is over the legal width or height.
  • Access: a tight gate, a steep slope, soft ground, or wires over the shed.
  • Condition and weight, including a shed that is still full.
  • A crane, a two-piece building, or building a new pad at the destination.

Those items are why a hauler’s price can land outside the band. The band is there so you know the shape of the cost before you give anyone your phone number.

On the property, or on the road

If the shed never enters a public street, the job is usually smaller: a mule or a short trailer pull, no oversize permit, and less time. If it travels, the range steps up with the miles: under 25, 25 to 100, 100 to 300, and over 300. A 10-foot-wide floor is already an oversize conversation in most states. Say which kind of move it is.
